This past Wednesday Kami fell ill and we ended up in the local hospital. The poor girl was very brave, and unfortunately, still very strong. With six nurses and myself holding her down at the doctors office, she could still move and squirm around making it hard to get a blood draw from her. After a few pokes at the office, we were headed to the hospital for more blood work, IV fluids and a full ultrasound! It took a few more nurses at the hospital for her blood draw, both veins in her arms blew, so they moved on to her hand and there we got lucky, blood and the IV tube in! After more blood tests, they found her blood platelets we very low....so we had the ultrasound of her abdominal to take a look at her spleen and appendix to make sure all was well. Kami was so brave during it all, lying still, not crying at the cold gel, which she did not like, waiting patiently for her IV fluids to go in. Telling me 'she's not done yet' every time she looked up at the bag. After about seven hours we were able to go home, but had to go into the doctors office for the next two days for more blood draws. The poor girl is a walking pin cushion! Thankfully the count is now up and she is on the road to recovery! We still have so idea what caused the drastic drop in her platelets......but I am just thankful she is back to her normal 'Kami' self!

Hope she continues on the road to recovery! Sounds like a pretty miserable day.
I'm sorry the little princess was sick. I hope she's still doing well!
Oh no, poor Kami! What a brave little girl.
Ooohh she looked so sick!
Poor girl and poor mommy too.
You'll be glad you took those pictures even though it was a horrible day!
